The Guide

Three cool brews to look out for in the 3 Valleys

Verre Gourmand’s Adam Breen recommends three crafty pints to celebrate another perfect day on the slopes of the Three Valleys:

The Sustainable Choice – Pure Brewing Co.

Up first is Four Pure Brewing Co. Brewed in London, inspired by adventure… If you like a classic IPA then look out for ‘Session’ or ‘Juicebox’ for an aromatic treat. Four Pure will also have specials popping up throughout the season, keep your eyes peeled! Their sustainability credentials also mean you can savour the flavour with a clear conscience.

The Alpine Brew – Galibier

Introducing our favourite French craft beer… Up in Vallorcine, next to the iconic Col du Galibier, these guys are quickly developing a reputation as the Savoie’s No.1 craft brewer. They brew a blonde American pale ale, an amber IPA and a German style Weiss beer.

The One Thats Not Beer – Crafty Apple Cider

Hops not floating your boat? Chow down on some Crafty Apple Cider instead for a refreshing, easy Herefordshire booze-buzz… Blending three Herefordshire apples (Dabinett, Yarlington Mill and Stoke Red, since you ask), it packs a real apply punch.

Verre Gourmand far more than just a wine supplier.

It’s been a busy 12 years for the boys and girls at Verre Gourmand. The story began in 2006 with two wine nuts operating out of a garage in Chamonix with the sole purpose of giving much-needed choice and greater consistency to catered chalets. From those small beginnings business has steadily grown. Now Le Verre Gourmand has over 400 wine, beer and gin references that it supplies to bars, restaurants, hotels and private individuals across the Alps.

LVG’s focus is on listening, in order to “help people and businesses find drinks to match their needs” which is great news for you. You can expect drinks selected from travels, talks and tasting throughout vineyards, brasseries and distilleries around the world. You’ll find drinks with character. Don’t expect a light tasting lager. The craft beers are all about flavour and plenty of it. With the international wines the backbone, not an add-on to the range and the addition of gins in recent years keeps things on-trend and moving forward.

It is all going to fuel some of the best nights you’ll ever have – even if it might add some haze to the memories….
